If we add this "visible means of support" sculptural element under the table, and cloak the actual support i-beam in mirrors, the table will be a real "Wow!" factor. Also, a sculptural piece similar to this will fit nicely
The beautiful custom wood base of this island serves as a sculptural element as well as a functional support. The slender V-shape base provides good countertop support but also allows for plentiful knee space.
