please tell me the dimensions of the shower. I love your design!
What type of lighting is in the shower area?
The wood used is teak, which does not encourage bacteria or discolor.
The shower was tiled then lined with a Teak mat for standing on. Makes it less slippery and warms up what would otherwise be a cold, enormous tiled shower!
Thank You. The shower floor is a custom designed slated floor made of teak wood.
Teak is always available for custom at www.originteak.com. We build these all the time.
Assuming the teak doesn't sit directly on the tile... what holds it suspended from the tile underneath?

Your best bet is it let the water naturally lighten it over he course of about 8months to a year (depending on usage) and then apply some teak oil which can be bought for as little as $10. This will re-darken the wood and it should then keep for longer. Remember if you are going to fold away your seat

Nothing ... it's teak so it is well suited to water. It does have some wood spacers built into the bottom of it so it is slightly raised above the tile floor. We oil it about three times a year with teak oil.

How is the cabinet part of the shower?
I wouldn't oil the bench in the shower, I mean excess oil running off the bench onto the shower tiles - would this stain the floor?
Most benches found in showers are make from teak. It is fine for them to get wet, and simple teak oil rubbed on will keep them from changing
