What material is that beautiful floor?
The pots are boxwood plants in simple terra cotta pots from the local garden
The floor is Lagos Azul, a beautiful blue-gray limestone sourced from Greece and I am a big fan as well! This particular lot of tile was purchased through Waterworks, but the stone is usually available at most stone suppliers
closed, some open; wainscoating, hooks in cubbies; drawers under benches; high window shelf; flooring stone. Would extend cabinets to ceiling.
Rug over the slate floor for a mudroom Looks good
Could have bench in kitchen, with floor to ceiling cabinets at the end. No hooks since that would block window.

Can you tell me about the red tiles on the steps?
It's a basic Saltillo Tile. The tile was not sealed before "grouting" so the tile absorbed some of the "red quarry clay" grout.
fabulous SW colors--salmon and purple, add to reddish brown of the steps but do not use clay tile; reflect colors-salmon, red, purple in chipped tile & mosaic swirls in Grano.

curtains temper the warmth of the red walls, rug and tile floors here. This is also good inspiration for changing the look of your space down the road, simply by adding new seat cushions and window treatments. Note:the floor is lighter than our floor. White ceiling works.
