stacked stone. You will then just need to cut around the brackets when you put the sheets of stone up. It is more difficult to notch the stacked stone if you wait to install the brackets until after the stone is installed.
individual stones. To install, you use thinset like you would when installing other types of tile. Check out YouTube for a number of videos regarding the installation of stacked stone - some are very helpful. Good luck!

The stone used here is not a veneer and was applied in a "dry stacked" method. The stones and colors will vary by which region in the country you live.
