I'd love to have this feature in our bathroom but am being told that we'll need to put glass over it or something else to protect the window?!?

coverage you may want...being a wet area i dont think i would use plastic shades - just too fussy and hard to keep clean... what i did add to my bathroom window ( condo in DC ) ..was a sliding mirror that i can pull across window when privacy is wanted ( my mother comes to visit) .. just a nice track
