This bathroom combines a neutral palette with earthy textures. A recycled timber vanity and timber look tiles feels like you have brought the mountains to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Photography by Sue Murray - imagineit.net.au
Did you purchase the timber in red tan or blonde prior to staining and what stain did you use
Thankyou so much for all your help What Is the timber thickness? Regarding
This vanity is 495mm x 1250mm and the timber thickness is 45mm. The edge was wood glued and clamped on. We go our timber supplier to do this as they have the full press to ensure it was done properly.
The timber itself was 45mm, the front piece was 90mm to make the whole piece
tile as it was purchased from a store with just their stock number on it. But there is an amazing range of timber look tiles around now with great colours and finishes. You can either Google "timber look tiles" or contact some local tile stores and they should be able to help you.

Can you tell me the thickness of the timber bench top please. Is the whole piece of timber the same thickness or does it have turn downed edges creating a thicker look. I am finding it hard to source timber in a laminated piece thicker than 45mm
Where abouts did you source all the recycled timber in the island bench and bathroom vanities from?
The recycled timber came from Recycled Timbers at Warragamba in Sydney - they were great to deal with!

I would love to know what timber is used in the bench top. Thankyou
native hardwood. The timber is very dense and hard wearing. It was pulled out of an old bridge in Queensland and re-milled into furniture boards.
Thanks for your question. The timber used here is a recycled Grey Ironbark, a beautiful and particularly dense timber from one of the
the eucalyptus species here in Australia. The timber was salvaged from a demolished bridge up in Queensland, then transported down to Victoria where it was re-milled into floorboards. There is no specific pattern for the timber flooring, however the boards are 80 x 20mm tongue and groove. The variation

The staircase is in the centre of the house so it needed to have its own presence yet still feel part of the decor. The recycled timber stairs connected to the joinery in the rest of the open plan room Photography by Sue Murray - imagineit.net.au
The timber for these stairs was recycled so we are not 100% sure what the species is although we do think it is either Blackbutt or Spotted Gum. We were looking for a grey toned timber as we wanted to stain it with a grey/brown stain and not have it have too much red in it. The stain we used was Cabots
some gorgeous recycled timber and had them made up to size and then i played with various stain colours that were from the same range until I created the perfect combination. As long as you can pic up some of the tones from the laminate flooring and you have more tones in your timber it will blend in. It
