This room plays off a white backdrop against textures, recycled timbers and soft grey accessories. Add the faux fireplace and the room is made for sweet dreams! Photography by Sue Murray - imagineit.net.au
Would you use timber look tiles on the bed wall? I was thinking of using the same tiles on the bed wall as on the ensuite floor. What do you think?
I want to create a wall with salvaged or recycled wood in my very small bedroom. My floor is bamboo and I have a concrete ceiling. Will a wood panelled wall make my room look smaller and will it make it very dark? I appreciate your advice!
solution for you - we used actual timber strips which we stained to suit the colour tones in the laminate flooring. If you can pick up the right tones the timber should disappear in the overall look. Another suggestion would be to not use one vertical strip of timber perhaps break it up into the size

vaulted ceilings certainly help make this living/dining area feel light and bright, but I especially love how the timber-panelled far wall echoes the ceiling lines. A contrasting weathered timber frame around the built-in shelving helps anchor the space.

bromeliads in this Brisbane garden is a great way to design an interesting focal point in a small garden, reducing the impact of the high walls. The timber panels add further interest, enlivening what would otherwise be a plain background.
