Questions2
What is the translucent roof made of?
I love this roof and have wanted to put something like this over my walkway - if I could find something that would let the light through. This looks to be the answer. Can you please tell me what it is?
Can this structure and roof withstand Canadian cold
glass and cedar. to match the cedar exterior of the house . I plan to have a foundation for the porch and build a similar structure . IS the translucent roof wrk in snowy weather?
This project is in DC. I would venture to guess our snowy loads aren't huge compared to Ontario. The roof was reviewed by a structural engineer who calculated weight capacity of the roofing material with the size of the cedar rafters combined with the load requirements of our area.

Ellicott City) and I have two questions...is there any problem with the snow load (since it is so small here?) and where does the rain water go since the roof slants back toward the house?
the compliment! We had the input of a structural engineer and the structure with the roof panels is designed and built to meet load requirements for our area. There is a cricket at the valley, created by the two roofs, which slopes from the middle to each side, to a conductor head and downspout.
