This is actually an Aloe Tree. Aloe barberae (syn. Aloe bainesii) is the botanical name. It is native to South Africa so I am not entirely sure about the winter cold temps in Las Vegas. Depending on the location of where its planted (protected from wind, etc), it should be alright, but some local
tolerate some shade when small. It should not be planted directly next to any buildings as its trunk and roots become enormous.. Great 'architectural tree however. Drew AMS Landscape Design Studios, Inc.
The other day, I was out on a run and saw what my sister thought was a yucca tree ( I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture). I like it for the front yard.
