Tree House #6 2013 Note rope for railing.
building tree houses brings architects back to their woodshop days in architecture school. This fabulous fort looks like an architectural model to me, with thoughtful overhangs to mitigate direct sunlight and an assemblage of reclaimed wood. It also looks like a lot of fun with its ropes and ladders, which

Tree fort big enough for sleeping by Bay Area contractor
story tree fort with deck big enough for sleeping by Wm. H. Fry Construction Company, San Francisco Bay Area General Contractor. Some people might call it a play house or tree house - but the little boy will always insist that it is a fort! Redwood construction will fade to color of adjacent trees.
One tree goes through the deck, the trees are not used for the structure. All the doors and shutters close to keep our outdoor friends out (squirrels, racoons, possums, etc...). Interior built-in ladder leads to upstairs with a safety rail on the landing. This play house is also a play structure

A stepped ladder is counterbalanced with steel beams anchored into the ground with concrete. An overhead log marks the entrance, welcoming guests brave enough to cross the

Wisteria on Atherton fort
How long do you think the tree trunk will last before it succumbs to rot? I have a huge tree tree that is coming down this coming summer (too close to house) and thought about doing something similar to this.
Great idea for a dead tree
"feels"... a tree house should feel closer to nature, not a miniture version of a real house
