A beautiful home was surrounded by an old and poorly laid out landscape before our firm was called in to evaluate ways to re-organize the spaces and pull the whole look together for the rich and refined tastes of this client. Today they are proud to entertain at poolside where there is now enough space

I have seen trees like this along the California coast just north of Malibu. They are stunningly beautiful. Such thick trunks and I was told they have thorns and possibly flowers. Do you know the name of this tree. Thank you so much and I love the landscaping you did
varieties can have noticeable thorns and very colorful flowers unlike the Carrotwood trees who's flowers are fairly inconspicuous. I hope my reply has answered your question. Have fun in the garden! - Kathryn Rue, Landscape Architect - Rue Group, Inc.

What is the large tree in the photo?
What is the name of the yellow plant next to the Chinese flame tree?
Yes, here in California we call it Chinese Flame Tree, or just Flame Tree. I believe in other parts of the Country (or world) they call it Golden Rain Tree, but be careful! Cassia leptophylla is sometimes Golden Rain Tree, or Gold Medallion Tree. It's best to use the latin, it's universal. :) LMK
Just found it, Chinese flame tree, thanks again.

what type of tree is this? Im looking for a tree to put to the house.
We love Gingko trees and have used several in the landscaping of our store in Mountain View. Summerwinds Nursery carries Gingko's but they are relatively small and it takes some time for the tree to get established and start gaining significant height. We have also used Capitol Wholesale
Wholesale Nursery in San Jose. This should be a fairly easy tree to find and grow. Enjoy!

Shade trees are essential to a nice
Shade tree. Before going on about built patio and deck canopies, we should acknowledge that trees are the best for providing that canopy naturally. Especially deciduous trees that are all filled out, providing the most shade exactly when it's most needed. Then, just as the dog days of summer start
