Love the back tree hedge. What kind of tree is it?
What is the name of the trees please?
What type of tree are the ones along the back wall???
Will the ficus grow in America hardiness zone 8b/9? I live in a NW Houston, TX suburb. I am looking for privacy hedge/tree that will grow at least 8 to 9 feet, over a 6 foot fence, in the rear of the yard.
ficus "tree-look" instead of hedge w/landscape lighting
8. Use pleached trees or tall, thin plants Pleached trees (where the foliage is trimmed to form a hedge) are ideal for small gardens as they let in light above and allow space for planting below. The pleached trees used here are the lush and dense Ficus microcarpa ‘Hillii‘. To their right is a planting

might be because of our strong summer light, but many of us like to decorate our trees in vivid colors and irreverent baubles. The traditional Christmas greens and reds are still around, but as with this stunning tree, our desire to express our own yuletide cheer can be equal to our decor's intensity

Love the trees! Were they installed while green or were they dried?
We are planning to put structural support posts both upstairs and down in our new house. I like the idea of using tree trunks, and wonder if we can use them green, or if we need to have them kiln dried for best results. We live
The trees were harvested on-site as the building project began. They were limbed slightly, stripped of their bark, and left to air dry during the early construction
and secured in place over them, and during the remaining phases of the job drying continued and some checking appeared. During final finishes, the trees were sanded and sealed with a penetrating oil.
Love the tree columns and the natural light.

This is actually an Aloe Tree. Aloe barberae (syn. Aloe bainesii) is the botanical name. It is native to South Africa so I am not entirely sure about the winter cold temps in Las Vegas. Depending on the location of where its planted (protected from wind, etc), it should be alright, but some local
tolerate some shade when small. It should not be planted directly next to any buildings as its trunk and roots become enormous.. Great 'architectural tree however. Drew AMS Landscape Design Studios, Inc.
