in my basement ceiling, and would like to use this idea of painting ceiling and rafters....but then there's the wires... Thx.
Were there any changes made due to changing from unfinished basement
ceiling basement, however have run into difficulty with electrical inspection regarding what is allowed to be painted and what isn't allowed to be painted. Was this an issue for you and how did you deal with it? Thanks
finishing my basement. I love your concept in this picture. I went to home depot to look at 2 x 2 kiln dried wood and its not the true 2x2 wood. The molding along the ceiling in your pictures looks larger than what i've seen at home depot. Is your molding in this photo along the ceiling true 2x2 or 1.5x1.5

on this basement? Does the black ceiling give the sense of a higher ceiling or does it feel lower? Thanks!
to my basement and would life to save a foot or two. These stairs seem steeper than the ones in the before photo. Can you tell me the riser height and tread width?
finish our basement. Our basement has a ceiling height of 7' 1" at the joists and 6' 4" at the duct work. I'm 6' 3" and the basement feels big with white walls, black ceiling and slightly enlarged windows. We used a standard brick moulding along the ceiling, 1x4 for the door moulding and 5-1/4" "colonial"
been in basements were they were painted white and I think black works better. The bottom of joists were approx. 7'-4" and the ductwork was sometimes at 6'-6". Lighting design is the key to any successful basement project.

Does this house have radiant heat instead of forced air? And, if radiant, are the basement floors heated?
What is the square footage of this basement and can you give a ball park on the cost to do it?
Amazing basement renovation! I'm looking for a high quality, bright white track light system that won't yellow with age...

DESIGNS , IDEAS WITH PILLARS IN THE MID OF LOFT?
out this basement we did with tapered columns flanking a custom built-in storage cabinet. Notice how the coffered ceilings give the columns purpose. http://www.wentworthstudio.com/portfolio/remodeling-ideas-and-pictures/70

look of unfinished framing, though; it’s just another way Churchill made a new house appear old. “We actually built this on top of an insulated wall system,” he says. “This room is supposed to look like a later addition. It’s where everyone comes in and takes off their coats, skis and boots.”A reclaimed

I love the look you have created with exposed beams and painted cement walls! Would love to do something like that with our basement but we have insulation in between joists overhead and a contractor told us the walls had to be insulated? is that right? we live in Northeast USA
Having basement finished. I showed contractor but don't have high expectations in his ability to made it correctly. Happy to pay for details.thank you
We have painted concrete block walls in our basement and I'm trying to find a cheap fix without
doing a basement renovation with exposed rafters and like how you used these unique recessed lights in your project. Thank you-

Does this basement belong to a hockey player from the New York Rangers?
My 5 year old saw this picture a few months ago and always asks for it in our new basement. How do I make this floor??
great idea for them. i was curious what kind of flooring is that and where did you get it
in my basement, I might do a basketball court instead of hockey but wow! Thank you for sharing! You have incredible taste
Good idea for back half of basement.

how about this for the boy's basement area?
the the basement and let the kids take it from there.
Morris and team divided this basement into several designated spaces. The boys love to play hockey, so they had a custom rubber flooring made to resemble a hockey rink, and had it installed
