Absolutely gorgeous! I agree with just one or two of the rebar ends being dangerous, so just bend them if you put them in your landscape. The ideas and photos are gorgeous! Just love the gate and the railing!

I adore the rebar with the wine bottles. I already have two bottle trees but I love this and I have the perfect place to put it!!

My favorite childhood memory is from one summer at the lake. My family was staying at our cottage and one day, my father, who liked to wander in the woods, came back so exited. Everyone else was too busy doing their own thing, but me, as in character, was simply splashing my feet in the lake - sitting on the dock. I followed my dad, and he brought me to a place that was formerly swamp. Large trees, but no underbrush or plants--- simply a padded carpet of moss under the tree canopy. It was so beautiful, I can still see it to this day. I tried to find the moss room years after as an adult, but it wasn't there. It must have been a result of the climate conditions for that year, I'll never forget it though- it still exists vividly in my memories.

I love the idea of sandboxes, but if you have cats wandering free around your neighbourhood you probably want one you can cover up, or you've just created one giant litter box!

Thanks for some new color ideas! We love yellow too, especially in the kitchen! In this photo we painted an accent wall yellow in an office that's attached to the kitchen. Looks great next to a chalkboard wall!

As an avid organic city gardener I enjoyed your article. Maybe I will seriously think adding bee keeping to my list of gardening activities.

Here are two 'different' options for countertops. GlassECO, from Fisher Recycling, is a custom, recycled glass counter top that comes in a wide variety of colors. Below are two countertops, and a detail of one of our favorites, a green glass finish. This is a great option to add an eclectic element to your project, and is also environmentally and budget friendly. Charleston Forge is a more traditional, yet beautifully unique approach, using hammered metal and hand-planed wood to make custom wooden pieces that are truly remarkable and one of a kind. They offer a wide variety of finishes, and also offer quality leathers and glass tops. Below is a tabletop they constructed.
