bubblyjock OK, now you've got me stumped again! How can this island be a "minimum at best" (I'm guessing it's 8' x 4' from other images)? The kitchen looks pretty workable to my eyes, if not my taste. There's maybe a heel pivot from stovetop to sink (4' between countertops), 3 steps (6'6") from either to the fridge or the wall-ovens?
I agree with your principles of efficiency, yes, but how, in your opion, is this kitchen not efficient, given the desirability of the T-layout? (hope this makes sense!).

Timber Block Wisconsin When we built our log cabin in Wisconsin, we wanted to make sure it was set up to cook for the multitudes. But, with this being a second home, cost was a major consideration. The cabin's kitchen is probably a fourth of the size of our Chicago home's kitchen, but the efficient layout makes it easier to cook in.
