I have grilled with everything listed above and all have some merit.

Quick cooking, heating up a few hotdogs or a burger, I have used a small hibachi style electric grill either outside or setting on the cooktop under the range hood.

Charcoal, my father taught me the nuances of starting, getting your coals going, then cooking over that. There are particular flavors that will develop. It is an art and a science.

Infrared I only got to use once, wasn't greatly enthused but maybe several more passes would make me warm up to this.

Campfire, see charcoal... you are wrangling wood instead and making both flame and coals to use. Again, has a special flavor.

Hands down, gas. If I want to add more flavors I can put a pan of chips in for the smokiness. Gas gives me the evenness of temperature I could never get with anything except the small electric; and with the ones that heat the fake briquettes or lavarock; you can move those around to adjust your heat some as well.
