In 2013 Clemson University created an app for counting fireflies. From any point, you look forward and click for every "light" you see for one minutes. It's fun. We have so many here - in Clemson, SC and it's fun to see them rise each night from our yard as well the surrounding neighbors.

I live on the North Fork of Long Island, NY - it wouldn't be summer without fireflies!

I love my front porch! Only wish it were larger! I just finished reading one of the new HOUZZ updates about green being "the" new neutral color. It made me re look at my door again and see what a beautiful olive green paint would do for it! What do you think?

Post Frame Accessories
Hi Fastsit,

Most latches that are designed for a gate can work with these doors. There are even latches designed for sliding doors - many of which are available on our website: http://www.postframeaccessories.com. Even something as simple as a hook and eye latch would work. The important thing is to make sure the latch is installed in a way that would not be difficult to operate due to the offset nature of the door panel to the wall.

Feel free to ask us any questions about sliding doors - they're our specialty!

The biggest noise is probably the street noise. Until Sunday morning and then the bells of a church (we live opposite the local church)

Naturally soft water and artificially softened water are completely different in all respects, the natural soft water that comes out of my taps tastes great, is great for washing with, and my plants love it. The artificially softened water from my daughters home tastes like soap, leaves the laundry stiff, the hair and skin "icky", and kills her plants.

We have extremely hard water - so hard, in fact, that the area has an exemption for water quality. No one drinks the water if they can afford a filter or to buy bottled. Good way to get kidney stones really fast! We soak shower heads and faucets in vinegar often, run vinegar through the dishwasher as the softening agents really are not the best. I also use vinegar in the washer to remove smells from towels because without it, the towels smell awful no matter what I do.

That's a good post!

I sleep with the Windows open when I can and NEVER drive a car with the windows open (that's for smokers to open their windows-probably what keeps me from ever opening them is not wanting others to think I smoke.). (Which I don't smoke in case there is ANY confusion!)
