Stainless Steel, cast iron and ceramic for me. Don't own any non stick and never will. Don't trust them. Don't trust aluminium either.

Didn't know anyone still used those coated pots. I like stainless because it holds the heat so is energy efficient, is easy to clean and lasts forever.

Ann, do you think that I should stay neutral for the rug, or go bold.

maddierosegirl, thank you for your suggestions, as for the pillows, I appreciate your comment, if you look on my second pict, I have yellow and grey pillows in front of the ones that came with the couch, the ones that came with the couch match my chairs and I am just using them as a base/backdrop.

Ann, I was thinking of nesting tables, but haven't seen ones that I like, I am going to look on Pottery Barn's website, you're the best, thanks again.

I must say that Ann's bold room shown above is very charming! I like your sofa and ottoman. Nice start.

Do you think that I should add curtain panels on the window to add warmth, I have silhouttes or should I leave it alone, for it might close in the room.

Keep the art. Add black, gold, and rust. Stay away from red and black: too harsh and uninteresting.

IMO, the plain black rug is a bit too stark, with blue the room looks like a bruise, and white sheers ruin the look.

If you are determined to have a plush shaggy rug, try a flokati. Here are all the black flokatis at Plush Rugs: http://plushrugs.com/search/?color=17&page=1&q=flokati&results_per_page=96

Tan seems to give the room a more elegant look so I would stick to lighter colors. Maybe you'll like something like this.

dreamhomeinwkz, my ottoman is a grey leather (pict on my first post) I do like the picture with the grey and blue in it. the wall that the sofa will be on is a long wall, and your right, I will have to add other things on it besides a picture. I like the idea a tall mirror, are you talking about the ones that stand on the floor, if so, I'm not sure where I would put that.

We have very tall vaulted ceilings and I think the tv looks fine above the fire place.

as mforr suggests remove the rhino and pic to the book case
i see another vase in the bookcase.
Add this to the ones on the mantle to try to achieve the arrangement as seen in this ref pic
Try to distribute the weight for balance

I would go with a chocolate brown or the darkest color in your granite, I recently did the same thing to my ceiling, I painted it a dark steel grey and love it, dark colors on the ceiling draw your attention to the ceiling.

Thank you Jeffrey Brooks Interior Design for your opinion, I appreciate it, but in my case, this is a 2 story open foyer with alot of white space, it emphasis the fixtures and that is what we wanted, everyone who has seen it so far has said "WOW"

Oh! What a beautiful home you have!!! I am visual, too, and love the idea of trying some fabric there to see what it would be like. And ya know what? It looks great just as it is, too!

You probably won't like this, but the mirrors need to be larger. The scale feels wrong to me and this could be part of why you are feeling stumped - the proportions just feel off. You want to avoid having 3 similarly sized items across there. Right now, in order to make the proportions work, you really need something very large in the center. This is hard to make functional. If the mirrors were larger, then the center could be something smaller. Good luck!

hayleydaniels, if I put a picture up, since its two story, how high do I hang it and how many picts do I hang, that's a lot of wall, any help or ideas on pict arranging is appreciated.

I forgot to mention...I like the color of your cabinets. My sister-in-law has a few interesting and colorful pottery pieces above her cabinets, and it looks good. I think it just depends upon what you put up there and how well it coordinates with the rest of your kitchen.
