I would change the hardware to something more modern. That will make a huge difference.

These two photos didn't show up for some reason. Yes, the table can be split into two separate tables that can be used in different parts of the house i.e. the kitchen and the formal dining area, there are 14 chairs with the full table so it's a pretty long table when it is completely put together.

What color and fabric would you reupholster the chairs?

What do you think about removing the glass portion of the hutch and then putting a new surface on the bottom half, it would have to be something different because I don't think I could find cherry wood to match?

Don't limit their function - let them enhance another area. Could they flank a fireplace somewhere. You could remove the upper portion of the hutch and use the base as a credenza - might even work elsewhere in the home - perhaps below a TV.

Not sure anyone suggested this, but could you paint your woodwork a different color...maybe beige/grey?. Try not to match it to your blinds because to me it would be almost impossible. Paint and blinds will probably change color (a little) as they age anyway.

You could try to bring some more of the trim color into the room in the form of accents to offset the stark white blinds. It will look more intentional. Try some art pieces, painted wooden frames with that trim color or even some candles. Painting trim is a huge job and can turn into a disaster if not done right. I'd try every other option first.
