I think we can hazard a pretty good guess at some of the personality traits of those who use red on their walls - this is a color definately NOT for the timid! :)

@baretta11 - Here's the photo of (1) of (3) set of stairs. Stairs and railings are painted chocolate - walls are Glidden - quiet rain (gray), and carpet is smoke gray. I hope this might help you see how it can work.

@smillerholmes from Baretta 11, the whole look is stunning. I can see the gray in the runner but I have to say that the walls look white but I understand it's a very light gray.
I think it really is outstanding, sooo elegant without being overdone.
I'm such a long way from painting at the moment, as we're only up to the framing stage but I simply can't wait to be able to start putting some colour schemes together.
I also must say, that the edging on the runner is beautiful and looks like it really makes the eye focus on where to place your feet whilst walking up the stairs.
Absolutely 1st class, well done.
Cheers,
Barbara

What is the best interior color for a condo & goes with everything that you have. I want a color that is friendly & warm. And that says welcome to your families & friends. My place is one big open concept to a kitchen/dining room/ living room with a big kitchen counter top, love to cook. Kitchen & counter top is white laminate, hard to keep clean. can I paint this ? Any ideas is appreciated. And thank you, have a great week.

We just had the old, original 90amp. furnace replaced with a 15amp. furnace and a heat pump.

The installer suggested we not use the expensive (DENSE) furnace filters that need to be changed only every six months. He said the "cheaper" (LESS DENSE) filters actually work better; they just need to be changed more often. Has to do with circulation.

I love all the plants you have shown in this article, but are they deer resistant? We have so much trouble with deer eating the buds and flower heads that we have planted here in the Philadelphia suburbs. They have destroyed the Black-eyed Susans we planted some years ago.

Thanks Charlotte for this very useful advice from a recent transplant to Vermont from the Caribbean. Your advice on Northeast gardens, as you may well imagine, is always a Godsend for me. lol
