D-CRAIN Design and Construction

D-CRAIN Design and Construction specializes in custom solutions integrated to your specific indoor and outdoor living needs or realized from your private flights of fancy...or both.

Hailing from east Austin, D•CRAIN is a holistic design/build firm with an extensive portfolio familiar to many. Through a myriad of private residences as well as contributions to public spaces D•CRAIN realizes a distinctive integrated aesthetic that captures the imagination of clients, architects, and passersby alike. The tireless pursuit of harmony between the structure and the landscape leaves no stone unturned. D•CRAIN founder Dylan Robertson has been designing unforgettable spaces from his East Austin studio since 1994. Robertson’s design/build team, which has worked as a unit for over a decade, has set up shop in a distinctive sanctuary—two old Austin houses retrofitted as a three dimensional portfolio piece. Collectively, the team leverages experience in architecture, ecology, philosophy and highly skilled building trades to inform an approach that is both organically nimble and elegantly minimal.

jkor Love this article! I am planning to widen our driveway which will mean it will take 80% of our front yard. This article gave me some ideas to ponder. THANK YOU!

alibonelli I agree with albion223. At first I was dissapointed we could not afford to pave the long driveway at our new home. Now I think the gravel suits the rural setting much better and I like the 'crunch!'
