My husbands old Golden Retriever adored the rotten pears off the ground under their tree. I can remember watching him chomp the mushy fruit, absolutely grinning while angry yellow jackets buzzed all around his head. That dog must have had the worst gas, later in the day!!

We have a peach tree in our back yard which gives fruit once every few years. We've enjoyed only one delicious and abundant harvest in the 9 years we've lived here because of the squirrels. The squirrels are a thorn in my side and we've tried everything to keep them away. They strip the fruit before it's even ripe. Pardon the rant. Stupid squirrels.

My fairy garden is on a table on my front porch, but my plants are struggling. Still a fun project, but a work in progress.

Another great desert plant. The natural open shape still retains the nice green color with a few leaves. It doesn't really look dead. Sorry that tsudhonimh's looks bad. :(
By the way, the flowers are tasty and look nice in a salad. No they don't taste like chicken, more like cucumbers. Be careful, the rabbits like it when it is very small.
