Very well said, Mary Lou. One question I always ask my self is: "Why did my great grandmother or grandmother or mother get to shop and pick out things THEY loved and then I have to keep them, even though I don't really like them or they are not my taste?" Why shouldn't I have the same pleasure they had in choosing furniture or decor that speaks to me personally and is not just stuff I inherited and feel obliged to keep? And perhaps there is someone else out there who would really like my gramma's bedroom set or my mother's 1960's faux colonial dining furniture, when I'd really rather have modern decor. I am 65 years old and still cannot sell that dining set because it would break my 91 year old mother's heart! My kids, on the other hand, have no problems rejecting any hand-me-downs that their gramma or I try to foist on them!

My house burnt down in March 2014. We were out at the time and so did not save anything. I wholeheartedly agree with you. The stuff that burnt was just stuff. Memories don't burn. I have tried to focus on the positive. There was nothing left - so I didn't have to sort through the rubble. We have moved into a furnished holiday unit while we wait to rebuild. Furnished holiday units have the bare minimum and we're surviving very well. I am in the not naturally organised category but with very few possessions, my unit is tidy. I plan to keep it this way when we rebuild.

Great read! Can you tell me where to find the "lyric artwork" shown above the bed in step 13?
