@BRANDON ROBERIE--

Soooo---it is OK for a "bad divorce" to make a credit score tank but---

Not an infection so bad it required the amputation of half of one foot and the leg below the knee of the other?

Trust me--I HAD (and have) health insurance. Have YOU any idea of how much they will NOT pay for?
.
They will not pay for a ramp for a wheelchair as "Others could benefit from it". They at first refused to pay for a prosthetic leg---at a cost of $16,000 dollars. And up. I was turned down when trying to sue for malpractice--a lot harder than one would think to get a malpractice case heard it appears. I had to forgo most therapy as I could not afford the co=-pays. I have found no easy way to be employed here in the wilderness as driving is difficult and jobs are few and far between so I have developed alternative income streams but none of them as much as straighforward 9-5 would pay.

I drive a 9 year old car--paid for. My husband drives a 10 year old car--also paid for. We own our tiny and not new or in any way "luxurious" house. We can't afford to re-do the house---see "Bills to pay" above---so we really can't just sell it and move. And we really should not HAVE to leave a place we love and where we care for elderly family and young grand kids because of ---medical bill leftovers!

We will be paying off the bills from these issues pretty much forever. I have sold pretty much anything I had of "value" to meet payments.

I am not exactly sure what ELSE you would have people in these situations DO to meet your standards.

What we SHOULD have here is a medical system that works FOR people and does not pit them against the very companies we PAY to take care of this stuff FOR us.

But that might mean an actual Universal Health Law--and that would be---socialism.

We could USE a little socialism here if it meant we got taken CARE of instead of destroyed by bills.
