I bought my first bee hive last year and was truly amazed the return on that small investment.

The honey we extracted last year had a very distinctive taste and was gone (as gifts to neighbors and friends) before we knew it. I hope to extract 120 lbs this year.

I am adding two more hives this spring, one by the garden and the other by the fruit trees. My neighbor was so impressed he's buying two hives himself. I have people already asking when it's going to be ready...lol

We've kept bees for years and also help others in our area start home hives. www.bluemoonbees.com

So happy to see this article (especially after reading the other idea book "Gardening for the Bees." In that article, the author actually called honeybees "junk." I believe he was greatly misinformed. I loved this Ideabook. Thank you!

I have just recently become a Certified BeeKeeper in SC. My husband is at the Journeyman level and has been keeping bees for years. This year he will have about 75 hives. He also raises queens and sells NUC's. We love our honeybees and the honey they provide :-)
