Mmm... I think I just learned to relax about things a bit. One thing stays true though: We are not pigs! And we will not live like pigs either! So be clean and neat please. I'm not saying be an obsessive compulsive cleaner but do your best for everyone's sake.
At the beginning of our marriage me and my husband swapped irritations with each other and since then he has diligently been putting the toilet seat down and I have made a habit of putting water in my porridge bowl should it stand for a while. We also share chores since we both work full time. I'm not going to get home every night and spend 3 hours cleaning after a hard days work. Like wise for him. So it had to be a team effort.

We have a pact. He drives, I cook. I don't tell him how to drive (except when he jumps a red light) and he stays the other side of the kitchen while I cook. This is not only because it's a very small kitchen and he's a big man (why do men take up MORE space than you would think possible?) but because most of my life I have had the kitchen to myself. I once told him that I drove this bus.... but loved his company. There are kitchen tasks he does while making tea (his job in the morning while I get those last precious five minutes of sleep) - emptying the dishwasher, filling water bottles and the ice tray, taking out the trash, folding the washing.... and I know a lot of men who DON'T help round the house. So it is nice to have him do all this. Just so long as he doesn't get under my feet while I'm making dinner!
