Thanks for all the kind words. I'll try to answer everything I've seen so far that isn't already in the story;
-Floor are straight up red oak with a grey stain
-All the cabinets were designed by Melissa, custom made wood and painted with a high Gloss Enamel
-All Appliances are Kitchen Aid. Stove vent is a downdraft right behind the stove that pops up when needed
-Marble is Honed and sealed
-Walls in Kitchen, LR, DR, Entry and Kitchen Cabinets are all Benjamin Moore Cascade Mountains
-Island Cabinet, LR Cabinet and back room walls are Donald Kaufman 62
-Jack's room and Back Room cabinet are both Restoration Hardware Slate
-Master Bedroom and Exterior walls are both Benjamin Moore Smoke Embers
-Exterior Trim is Benjamin Moore White Wisp
Thanks!

Here are two 'different' options for countertops. GlassECO, from Fisher Recycling, is a custom, recycled glass counter top that comes in a wide variety of colors. Below are two countertops, and a detail of one of our favorites, a green glass finish. This is a great option to add an eclectic element to your project, and is also environmentally and budget friendly. Charleston Forge is a more traditional, yet beautifully unique approach, using hammered metal and hand-planed wood to make custom wooden pieces that are truly remarkable and one of a kind. They offer a wide variety of finishes, and also offer quality leathers and glass tops. Below is a tabletop they constructed.

Great ideas! I would probably do a little homework to source these products at less expensive prices.

The chair and the rug don't work well together because they are both geometric. It's easier on the eye if you mix an organic design with a graphic design. Also, the rug could be larger to help balance the space and connect the individual pieces. The appropriate size of the rug completes the room by anchoring the furniture. So, I would look for a larger rug with a less rigid design to work with your existing pieces.
