Often the homes inspired by the tiny house movement veer too far into the rustic camp aesthetic for my tastes. This is one of the most livable and chic iterations I've seen yet - so inspiring.

Libbmom is right. First rule of design - don't let rugs float in the middle of the floor - anchor them with furniture. I really think if you would paint your walls the same as the background of the rug and add coffee table and a stripe pillow with white and the other colors, it would look great. It looks strange now because EVERYTHING in the room is darker than the rug!
