If the cutout part is too damaged, mandolynrachel, consider removing other side and installing metal screenwork with a geometric pattern, like is seen in Moroccan window screens or radiator covers. I have seen tho metal carried in Michael's and Lowe's recently. I am going to build inserts for doors for an older piece of furniture where I don't want clear glass any longer. Or you could trace and replicate the pattern and use a router to cut new screens out of thin plywood or craft wood.

Has anyone had good success with panting melamine or other plastic cabinet surfaces? If so, or if not success, could you detail what you did? Thanks to all who tried. It's been mentioned in thread but not with solutions.

I had a body shop paint my cabinet boxes and bought new doors from omega. Got the paint fro them to match. Flawless! Am now redoing my kitchen and using my 2 36 inch pantry cabinets in the mudroom. Having them painted and ordering new doors. Using my old cabinets in an office so doing to same there, new doors painting the boxes. Using one of the base cabinets in the island with pullout for my large printer. I didn't want to throw them out, they cost me $20k 13 years ago and they are in pristine condition - the interiors. The doors re no longer my taste. Unfortunately couldnt us in the kitchen as Im going for a totally different concept. Opening kitchen, Breakfast room and Dining room as one large open space! Cant wait
