Skylark, my LR/DR looked like a patchwork quilt - I had so many colours of yellow - it was ridiculous. But I did eventually find the right colour! Thank goodness for those little pots of paint from BM.

Picking fabric to reuphostler chairs while 9 months pregnant. Went to hospital to have baby. A few weeks later newly covered chairs arrived too. Yikes! Pumpkin -- in indestructable 1970s Naughahide. Those chairs haunted me for years and are probably putting out radioactive orange rays to this day. Luckily I made a much better choice with the baby. She's quite lovely still.

They are never too young to start. My boys, aged 5 & 4, love to help with laundry. Here is what they are able to do so far:
- with guidance, sort dirty clothes (light, dark, hand wash), turning items right-side-out as they go,
- with supervision, load the front-load washer and watch me add the soap,
- find the button for the wash cycle I point to and press Start,
- unsupervised, move a finished load from washer to dryer and press start,
- unsupervised, empty the lint (they fight over who has the next turn!),
- match clean socks and fold them in pairs,
- put away their folded socks & underwear & pajamas.

I am too organized to let them make messes of their other piles of clothes, but they will get there soon. They really do take pride in helping!
