Has anyone heard of using marine enamel paint on trim? Previous owners of our home used it on the trim and it is holding up really well esp on window ledges
Had some new trim installed and painted with quality trim paint but not as durable as the marine paint...

Thanks to John Whipple for some important comments. We live in a contemporary 1974 house, and although its overall design is still very much in today's style of living, we discovered that the 1974 plumbing is not big enough to handle a direct connection to the washing machine and would be very expensive and disruptive to replace. As a result, we can't eliminate the large laundry tub that handles the water discharge and are currently looking for something in stainless steel that is easier to clean than the existing acrylic (?) model. If you live in a pre 80's house, make sure your plumbing can handle a direct water discharge while planning your remodel. Also, we discovered that our existing laundry chute is considered a fire hazard and we boarded it up; I'm surprised that they are still being made. I still use my top loading washer; it runs perfectly after 13 years, so my initial interest in moving to a more "fashionable" front load look in the laundry room has waned considerably. Do your technical homework before remodeling a wet area that requires certain safety standards in plumbing, electrical, and floor surfaces.

My stove is more of a fire hazard than my laundry chute. People can go overboard worrying about every safety hazard in life.

cjg333-you should try some of those snazzy acrylic wine glasses, especially the stemless variety, because they are a bit more stable on a picnic blanket. Here is one from the Houzz marketplace: Room Essentials™ Acrylic Stemless Wine Glass or stem glasses: Laela Acrylic Wine Glass. Thank you for the great recipes Maria! I want to try both!
