Leather couches that are tufted can be stiff and uncomfortable. My mom has one made of fabric in her favorite room at home and she reads, watches tv and naps on it more than any other piece of furniture.

It shouldn't need to be said, but... ALWAYS sit on a couch before buying it!

Looking at the 4th photograph reminds us that using multiple square pendants over an island is not a great idea because they almost never line up exactly.

I love the idea of having a "hidden" light fixture in the kitchen. It's so cool how the pans camouflage the light itself. Neat design!

I am so excited my next kitchen will have soapstone counters. I have already picked out my slabs. Photos attached. Can't wait to get this project started. I visit my slabs when I can

I have long dreamed of having soapstone counters. I have a small, dark kitchen that was renovated just before I bought it. (Illness in the family that sold the house.) I have cherry cabinets and Corian counters. Even the backsplash is Corian that has been routed to look like separate tiles (wonderful). And I have a cherry center island with a white tile top and cherry edges. All looks fine, but not my ideal. Not enamored of the Corian. It, too, scratches, but doesn't look natural. And of course does not take heat. As I have a new BlueStar stove, we can make real heat! Nonetheless, I am concerned that the soapstone would make the room look even darker, but it's something I cannot let go of! I would love to have soapstone counters and a soapstone sink. If anyone is getting rid of their soapstone, I am buying! :-)
