I grew up with my hands in this cookie jar and was surprised to stumble on it under Ebay's vintage cookie jar section. Many memories - some disappointing when your little hand reaches in and it's empty! I love letting my 3 yr old granddaughter get her own cookie and my cookie jar is never empty!

This is one great, creative home! There's not one thing I didn't love (and I'm not fond of white all over the place!) My favorites:
The baseboard wall
The kitchen magnet wall - so educational for Noah
The wallpaper in the family room
The colored drawers in the little dresser in the family room
The fabulous cork boards in the office
The bathroom wallpaper
The Scrabble tile floor
The stairwell windows
The bird decal above the trees shower curtain
Noah's bed
The mahogany wall art in the master bedroom
The wood wall in the white bathroom
The accent floor tiles in the bathroom
The wall surfaces by the front door
And the big round chair!
Magnificent, Katie - hope you and your family enjoy such an inspiring home!

Lovely but I have several apprehensions. Constant swinging will eventually cause the hinges to loosen. Weight can cause bookcase door to scratch the floor. Breakage and rearrangement of nicnacs when opening and closing.

If fear is your guide/council you will likely go no where. Put a rubber wheel on the bottom and be gentle. Hinges won't loosen with correct screws, hinges and installation. Now you have no more excuses, get to work.

Great house! Great people! Great story! Do you find it ironic that in a round house the walls, inside and out, and floor are covered in squares? Super! Enjoy!

Hey Catz1--I wondered the same thing but then figured out that you can easily detach the magnetized rod and keep the rod in the pocket. Plus you know exactly where to reattach the rod when you wish to change the configuration.

Smart idea that I will definitely try.

I don't think they are practical at all, actually. As side table they are too small to fit a drink if there is anything else on them and as a stool they are VERY uncomfortable. On a patio they are breakable....I could go on but I think garden stools are a terrible fad. Their only redeeming quality is that they add color when you need it.

I have five of them -- both inside and outside. None of them even have a chip in the glaze. I think I'd be hard pressed to break one without tossing it off the second floor balcony.

When used as a seat, they're designed to be used with a woven straw cushion -- but any cushion would do.

I like them because I don't have the room for big side tables in most places.

It's kind of hard to think of something popular for hundreds (maybe thousands) of years as a fad!

The Moroccan Light is amazing! Not sure if it looks better on or off. The shape of the light itself is beautiful, but the most exciting part of the lamp to me is the patterns that it reflects onto the ceiling when it is lit. Truly a pretty and well designed piece.
