Lift and Stor Beds I have a friend who lives in a very similar apartment! We were able to improve storage space in her home by getting her a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds which is in the living room area as a work desk - but can also turn into a guest bed whenever she needs it!

    A. Peltier Interiors I would add in the enchanted or ballerina theme in just your art and accessories. So search online, etsy or art.com and find some art that you like. Then start to work your room around that. Find bedding, drapes and a color palette based on this art and your room will look pulled together. Good luck and what a fun project for you and your daughter!

Lift and Stor Beds An idea that kids love when they're young because it's "cool" and when they're older because of its functionality is a hidden bed! http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds Or if you need more storage room for her toys, there are storage beds as well http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds

decoenthusiaste I use a pocket OTD rack for socks. Could be handy over the bathroom door for undies, hose, anything you'd don after a bath. Consider putting your chest against the wall and wall mounting the TV. That would allow you to put a shelf and basket system on the wall that runs beside the bed, just for storing off season items you don't need to access.

Lift and Stor Beds Beds are the biggest space invaders in any room. There are actually a few ways where you could turn this into an awesome storage space while keeping it available for guest use. I would recommend a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds or a storage bed http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds because these will give you far more storage space and turn your biggest space invader into one of your largest storage space providers!

Lift and Stor Beds Have you considered a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds or storage bed http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds for this room? A hidden bed could replace that desk and save space in the room, while the storage bed would be a perfect place for him to use as storage.

    tcufrog Lori...

Most kids rooms aren't big enough to comfortably accommodate a queen once you add a desk, hang out seating and a dresser. When he goes to college he'll probably sleep on an xl twin so why not put one in his bedroom now? A lot of teens would love to have the same amenities minus the roommate in their bedrooms plus if you buy the right stuff such as modular seating and storage they can take it to college with them, saving you money down the road. A friend of mine had an xl twin loft with built in desk during high school. Her father took it apart and she took it college with her.

Lift and Stor Beds This room Does have a lot of potential like decoenthusiaste stated. Honestly I think it's a perfect place to put a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds . You could actually do your vanity and your bed in one go!

Lift and Stor Beds I love the nightstands! I agree that it would look great with matching lamps. Another thing you might want to look into due to the smaller size of the room is a storage bed http://storagebeds.com/ next time you're looking at furniture.

anumaura Oh, I have another suggestion for the headboard wall. Idk why i didn't think of it before (i intend to try this in my bedroom someday, DIY ;) ). it'll work just fine with what you have. infact it'll be like an overlay on your new paint in portions only, depending on design chosen.. this is what i mean, opaque pearly paint :
Karla Trincanello, NJ CID, ASID Allied 1 Karla Trincanello, NJ CID, ASID Allied 2 the designer has even described how she did it..
but yes, it all depends on manual efficiency.. which is the design variable here..
Am quoting the designer's top paint treatment:

"Benjamin Moore makes a wonderful pearl paint finish which was used over a decoratively painted strie. Inquire about it at your paint store. The base color was a combination of a yellow dry brushed over white so it was not a solid color." "She started with Benjamin Moore # 198 Cornsilk for the base treatment. Benjamin Moore has a great group of opaque pearl treatments that go over paint color which did the effect you see with the stripe and diagonal walls that seem to glow. The painter use B. Moore opaque Pearl paint (not sure which but they are opague and the paint store can help make a selection. We used it as a strie treatment over the base color. Then the pearl paint again to create the stripes and diagonal pattern over the paint treatment. She did the stripes and diagonal wall freehand by marking the walls lightly with pencil to follow the lines. Good luck, it is a lot of work but oh so "
