I love, love, love the apothecary style cabinet with sliding doors! That is EXACTLY what I would like for my tiny narrow kitchen where there is no more room for doors that open out.
I've been holding out for finding an antique one in a natural wood finish (to co ordinate with my white kitchen and antique filled home) but I may have to take this photo and have one custom built!

Lovely kitchen. I like the design, very personal and functional. Brilliant idea to put the two drawer cabinet near the range for pots and pants. Something about those light fixtures, really the right choice to keep the kitchen looking modern and clean.

Very few houses in Australia have attics....I so would love one, they always seem so mysterious and just a little bit scary, these ones look a bit more..less mysterious but way more functional. Still want one.

I do have a concern how huge some houses are. In my job I home visit new parents, I was in an estate area as the home visitor nurse for 8 years, it actually had a devastating effect on my own health. Seeing young families with enormous houses, 4 wheel drives in the garage, and saying to me I have to go back to work when baby three months, crying, increasing rates of depression as families drowned in debt. It made really sad. I was then transferred at my request to a different area, smaller 3 x 1, older homes, families doing them up as they can afford, less competitiveness amongst the mums, happier families, less depression. I was happier. It is a terrible legacy the materialism that I guess we all have created. I now have moved areas again into the poorest most in need community and seeing the disparity between our areas in my own small city it is a sad reflection on society but what the answer is I have no idea. Sorry I have had a bit of a debrief here.

tea is a way of keeping a person that's in an accident but 'walking wounded' in one place. It can calm them, gives them something to do and makes them feel as though they are being looked after ... it's a bit like a hug in a mug - and can allow someone of a caring nature to feel that they have in someway helped someone who needed it ! so can be beneficial for both the walking wounded and the shocked bystander alike !
