Thanks for this idea book and all the great posts. Last spring our basement flooded badly. We did an initial thorough clean up including ripping up the beautiful Wilsonart flooring and cutting out drywall. Also drying out our leather furniture set which briefly came in contact with water before we raised it up. Months went by and we couldn't afford to remodel, our furniture gathered dust as the fans blew and dried out from the constant use of dehumidifiers to stop the growth of mold and mildew. Finally this weekend we began tackling the mess. We still can't afford the full repairs but have decided to make it useful enough for our teenaged boys and their friends. The furniture was covered in a layer of dust. I used the leather cleaner that came with the furniture to clean it but was unhappy with the results. I'm going to try a version of this cleaner to make the leather supple again. I love using natural products that I already have around the house. I think an addition of grapefruit seed extract would also eliminate the worry of the oil going rancid.

Love all these ideas. I am buying all new furniture for my living room and thinking about purchasing a white leather sectional couch. (Am I crazy)???? I have 2 Yorkie's and a cat and yes they are all allowed on the furniture. HELP. I really want to do a new refreshing modern look-we are recently retired couple and this will probably be our last couch for some time!!! Thanks any thoughts appreciated.
