joehamilton But, if most of your outdoor kitchen sides are open, a good outdoor ceiling fan is virtually as effective and costs far less. I know. Our kitchen is open on 3 sides and is fully covered with a solid ceiling and, yet, with our ceiling fans we're never bothered with smoke. Just FYI.

Are These the Best Houses in the World?

    lolasnoopy Actually very strange houses

cami19 I actually don't find the glass box homes innovative or weird at all -- they are blatant copies of the glass box houses introduced by Mies van der Rohe and Philip Johnson in the 1940s-50s. There is nothing new or innovative about a glass box.

Karen Heidrich If given the opportunity, I'd stay in each of these homes for a week, just for the experiences. That's the only way I'd get a feeling for the designs and if they worked for me. The only design i can be sure about is one I've experienced.

maximgrrl I am in LOVE with this backyard! All of it! It's one of the only posts I added almost every single photo to my idea books! What an inspiration.... my husband and I moved in to our new (old) home last year on 1/4 acre. We said "inside first., then outside". We're now tackling the back yard. My husband has been working so hard on yard for weeks and it looks like all we did is put in grass. Huge help from our family and friends too. Little by little it will all come together. Labor of love. Thank you again for the inspiration. Chandigarh the cat is adorable!
