Yeah, husbands ................ we can trade if you like, mine has absolutely no idea, no sense of colour and no opinions. Trust me, just once I would love a good argument!!!.

You really need to know what you are doing to mix patterns, textures and colours or it looks a mess. There are often some good examples here.

You could paint the kitchen wall above the cupboards and the return wall to match the splashback, that would define your kitchen nicely and give hubby some colour. Then bring in some greenery or greens - just touches - and I think your room will come to life quite a bit more. Of course I am biased - green, blue and yellow, is my favourite colour combination.

I have been admiring your starfish bowl too, my DD gave me a similar one at Christmas. It looks small in the photo but it would be about the size of yours.

My interior designer said to hang chandeliers 36" up from the top of the table. That seems perfect and has worked for me for many years. The bottom should be 36" off the table top!

cjg333-you should try some of those snazzy acrylic wine glasses, especially the stemless variety, because they are a bit more stable on a picnic blanket. Here is one from the Houzz marketplace: Room Essentials™ Acrylic Stemless Wine Glass or stem glasses: Laela Acrylic Wine Glass. Thank you for the great recipes Maria! I want to try both!

geejay, If you're craving brighter than 'all the green' I wonder still about bringing a slightly brighter, more striking, version of your colors, but in an area rug, sort of like this [cause there's only pattern at the windows? or maybe a bright bed pillow? ] :

Thank you for this article. Green has been my neutral for years. Imagine living in Rainy Seattle, WA and painting a room beige or, heaven strike me, grey. Perhaps in another region where the sun is intense. Green is the color of balance and nature. It helps us concentrate and even helps us heal. Long live green. Let's all take a lesson from nature and use more green. The world would be a happier place

If you ever have a survey how happy people are in their new homes I would say those in the houseboat must be very happy and content. it is just beautiful and has to be loved by people and a dog. I wonder if they have a real dog how long it takes him to make friends with the one on the roof.......................
