Can't believe this is labelled as a tiny home. I'm from Europe - this home is mid-to-large sized and is suitable for families across Europe (who are neither poor nor coming from third world countries). I can't imagine why anyone would want a 3000sq ft home - does one spend entire free time cleaning it or is one rich enough to have somebody come every week and clean it? Also can't believe that there is a discussion about the kids sharing the room - up until a couple of decades ago didn't all mostly share rooms? Strangely they all turned out fine. And I don't have a laundry room in our apartment - the washing machine is in the bathroom and the clothes dry out on the balcony or somewhere else. Why do you need a laundry room? The home in the article is cozy and nice, well done!

Had to smile at Patricia Beharry's comments about how she could never have a washer/dryer in a bathroom or kitchen. Every family/friend in Paris, London,Japan, Israel has a washer/dryer (often one machine) in the kitchen or bathroom. Lord knows we are civilized and manage just fine.

Sad that Americans use more natural resources per person than any other country in the world. Spoiled is an understatement and not something to be proud of.

I grew up in a home that small with my brother and parents. We had 1 bedroom, living room and added-on kitchen, no bathroom - outhouse. Of course, ours was not by choice : ) I still look back on that as "the good old days" and love spending a night in a place like Tallahatchie Flats in the Louisiana Delta - makes me feel like I've gone back home. I also dream of building a replica of that little cabin I grew up in. Thanks for this story!

I spent two years living in my 32' travel trailer during the week (working away from home) and then going home on the weekends, I could totally do that long term but maybe only by myself. Being organized is the biggie...

Simply love the light of the space. And what you have said about making sure everything is meaningful and useful. That should be every homeowners mantra, no matter the size. Here is another example of a home I finished under 640 sq ft. Managed to get in 2 bedrooms, a full bath full kitchen, dining, sitting and sun porch. The high ceilings help keep it light and airy. Thanks for a great ideabook!
