Hubby and I are seniors, and have always had a garden, which he tended. Because of arthritic knees, bending over to garden was out of the question for him, so we have now started using the Topsy-Turvy planters, and are thrilled with the results! We plant grape, cherry, plum, and smaller varieties of tomatoes in the hanging pots, which are easy to water and harvest the fruit from...and our larger floor pots contain banana peppers, red/yellow/orange sweet peppers, and a beefy-type tomato....our "garden" gets full sun from sunrise to sunset, making our harvest abundant! This also provides a "screen" for our carport area ( there is a 15 x 15 sunroom at other end of carport ) which we use extensively for entertaining throughout the warmer months...a win/win situation!!

A follow up :)
The idea of growing herbs in old tea cups and glasses is quite interesting. You can’t do it for bigger plants though. Just picked up a few illustrations from google.
