We're very happy with our double Ikea farmhouse sink. It is 36" wide and gives lots of room for washing on one side and a placing a drying rack in the other part. It was also very economical. This style of sink is also idea if you love wood countertops like me. Years ago we installed wood counters with a stainless drop in sink and it was impossible to keep the water away from the counters and we had some warping issues. If I had less space to work with I would definitely choose a sink with only one section. I've always hated working with a small sectioned sink because we use big pots all the time.

Great article! One of the reasons I fell in love with our house was that it had so many indoor/outdoor spaces. Here's a small upper deck that I decorated as a European bistro - it stays cool in the morning, great for breakfast. (more photos at http://composerinthegarden.com/2012/06/09/breakfast-in-the-treetop-bistro/) However, I would love to replace the beige vinyl floor covering with the stained wood decking shown in #3! The woven area rugs are Mad Mats, inexpensive beautifully woven plastic carpets that are now on their third year and still looking good. To me, the mats are what make the outdoor space feel like a "room" and the water runs right through them. Practical, inexpensive, and beautiful.
