marjie1059 This is so not my style, but I am in total agreement with those who love the changes. This article is great for the following reasons:
--Before and after photos are super helpful, especially when the footprint stays the same. (I am tired of "redos" which are really expansions of some sort.) The same footprint requires creativity that an expansion often does not.
--Price information is so helpful. I would have liked to see it broken down further--so much for appliances; so much for the bamboo; so much for cabinets, etc. It helps me figure out what we will and will not probably be able to do in our home, financially.
--It works well with the space limitation and is minimalist without seeming naked or cold or unwelcoming.--the personality of the owners comes through well.
--The kitchen is workable, as is the bath. Some ideas I see may be lovely or make a statement, but are not very practical.
--They worked with the footprint and didn't try to make it into something else (like when one decorates an architecturally modern house in shabby chic). Thus, all fits in the space, literally and otherwise as well.
Great article. Congrats on your home!
