Darzy Hey Ourfarmhouse! Bruce tells me you gave me your $50 gift card. I am happy to share the prize with you as both of us contributed to the final result. Having said that, I want you to know you have upgraded the new cookware I was planning to purchase with my windfall. : ) Thank you. See you around!

ourfarmhouse Darzy, you're welcome! I really like the ideas you shared. They were so spot on. You have some pretty good taste, and I hope you put this kind of creativity to use on a daily basis. It's good to see that you were able to put Bruce's generous gift to good use. God bless.

Here are some suggestions...
1. Medium to dark gray paint would be a more modern choice than the existing white. White tends to look dirty pretty quickly on a low-slung house like this.
2. A more substantial fascia board would help to define the roofline a bit better.
3. Stone on the left side and under the windows by the carport help to break up the facade so that it doesn't feel so sprawling. Stone feels more permanent and makes an architectural statement.
4. An orange MCM-style door helps your eye find the entrance on an otherwise neutral facade and adds just the right amount of flair.
5. A patio courtyard with a wall that displays the Neutra house numbers incorporates the large shade tree and adds architectural balance to the carport. It also plusses up the MCM feel.
6. A more horizontal band of windows is brought to the left side of the house.
7. Landscaping is pulled away from the house to allow for the architecture to shine and to bring the footprint of the house to the outside boundaries of the new patio courtyard.
