There are as many adherents as detractors regarding green interiors. My favorite colors as a child were green and blue together just as in nature. Green grass, blue sky! It's as natural as can be. So, we did our great room/dining room in Glidden Granny Smith Apple green with all slate blue furniture and navy rugs. We adore it. We also used green furnishings and grass carpet on the balcony with a few blue touches to blend with the lovely view. How can you go wrong when your interiors blend with outdoor colors?

I gave a painter my cans of paint in a green picked out by a decorator. I left for a couple of days, thinking when I returned he'd have a small area done and I could decide if I liked it. When I returned, my entire living room, foyer, and dining room were differing hues of sage green. I panicked and wondered if I could ever get used to all that green. Now, fourteen years later, I am not only used to it, I still like its clean contrast to the white trim and enjoy the peaceful feeling it invokes. And unlike a lot of other colors, it hasn't gone out of style. Not yet, anyway.

I had a good friend who always told me "all greens go together -- just look outside" -- same advice as you've given here. Must admit that I am partial to green, in my own home and in our decorating projects!

Peggy Gish, I don't think it's the colour of your furniture that dates it but rather the style. BTW In that picture your love seat looks blue to me. I don't consider true teal to be green. I put it in the blue category.

Adore green! Many different shades of it in, and out of, my house. I kept my large couches creamy-biege, I'll probably have them for a long time, and use green on the walls and for my area rug. This pic shows just 3 of the multitude of greens I have going on. (2 inside, 1 out)

My phone booth became wine storage.
It wouldn't fir through the door when we sold, so the new owners said it would become a 'Tardis."
