Ruidoso, NM
About me:
We spent half of our adult lives being transferred around the country while Dave was a bureau chief with The Associated Press. I was in advertising, public relations and marketing in those years. We raised two daughters. For the last 25 years of our working lives we lived in NYC where Dave was an executive for The AP and I sold residential real estate. We both went back to college at the age of 50. Dave became the AP's media lawyer. I became a psychotherapist. When Dave retired after 37 years with the company it was time to leave NYC and follow our dreams of building a cabin on an old family plot in the mountains of NM. I could not have built that cabin without Houzz.com.
My favorite style:
Cottage/Cabin/Lodge
My next house project:
We just bought the land that stood between us and Sierra Blanca, the local iconic mountaintop. We just may sell the new cabin and build across the street to capture that fabulous view. Then again, we just may sell the land to old friends from San Antonio, TX, enticing them to spend more time near us. We'll just sit on our handmade pine bench in front of our Houzz.com inspired cabin toasting the sunsets while watching them build.
