All framing is made from pressure treated pine. The posts specifically use a pressure treated 4x4 that is capped with ipe' 1x6 trim. The ipe' is drilled to receive each stainless steel pipe rail.

We purchased a lake house two years ago and have been slowly renovating and changing the landscape. Between the house and water we have natural moss, wintergreen and other woodland species. It's actually quite comfy to walk on and it doesn't really require any mowing. I'd like the keep it as is but we have a lot of ruts and holes from trucks that were used to raise the house last year. If we regrade the land I'll lose all the natural stuff and I'll have a muddy mess. Any thoughts about how to fix my problem? We are in Maine.
