Yes Rick...I use it alot! We built it from salvage materials 12 years ago and I have used it for seed starting, division growing and heated it to winter over my tropicals and cactus collection ever since.
I start lots of different perennials and vegetables from seed, do cuttings of shrubs and "grow on" divisions of different plants also for my one acre garden.
For 7 years, while I worked seasonally as a horticulturist I also had a massive plant sale at home every May and used the greenhouse and coldframe to prepare for that also. I got a fulltime job as a gasfitter 6 years ago and don't do the sale anymore but still love my little GH for my own gardening pleasure.

You can see more photos of the GH, coldframe and gardens in my Ideabooks...labelled Wyndyacre's Garden.

Just picked out the flagstone in Cartersville, GA to start landscaping for a path. Hopefully we will have it delivered by mid-week. Will start laying out the area or framework for the basic path by removing grass and leveling off this weekend (that is, if it ever stops raining here.)

Spent all day visiting stone yards. We finally found a Fantasy White quartzite. Fingers crossed that all goes well with it this time! Also, if anyone is in the market for Calacatta Oro, this book matched pair of slabs can be yours for under $2000! I saw them on clearance in one of the stone yards. I was seriously tempted! Oh, the grayish slab is what we chose.

I'd have to say the house we have now. It's such a pretty location with lots of oaks and other trees...quiet and peaceful, too. We haven't lived here that long...still lots to do. However, we don't plan to move again.

I love a white kitchen and the fresh feel it has. I think you're on the right track with the carrara backsplash. Different companies offer different qualities of carrara. If you want a clean and consistent soft gray, I would recommend going to Ann Sacks. I've used it in several bathrooms and kitchens and have been pleased with the quality and consistency of the product. I've attached a photo of a kitchen I did as an example.

Awkward space? What you have is my ideal! I hate tubs that have no place to perch anything. Attractive glass containers of bath salts, bubble baths, soaps, shampoos, plus a basket of rolled up towels, as Ramona has suggested. And candles, definitely candles.

Update: Nausea has subsided!! My backsplash was installed and I am 100% happy! I will have the cabinets painted on Monday but wanted to give you all an update so far. Please ignore the messy kitchen! It turns out the busy granite works with the neutral subway tile. Phew. Now i just need to decide what color to paint my island. Thanks so much for all of your comments. Y'all really helped me.

Gorgeous granite. We just finished our kitchen remodel and used the same sink. And I think another color choice that would look great is Truffle, which is what we went with. We also didn't want stainless and black seemed too stark. Metallic grey is also very pretty. Be sure to post final pictures.

I love the Uba Tuba! Green is my favorite! We thought about the Cambrian Black for the perimeter but I thought it looked like it would be hard to keep up although it's beautiful. This is one of the other tops we were contemplating.

I don't know the fabric, but that price seems way out of line. The workmanship is really not acceptable with what you describe. I will say that inside mount roman shades are difficult at best to look perfect. If they will not remake them with REAL improvements and NO COST to you, then they should at least make long drapery panels for the sides that just cover the gaps and outside edges..at NO COST. I had a work room with my shop and this would be totally replaced at my cost if it happened.

I just made some Cambria countertop selections which include Rosslyn for one of my bathrooms. After reading these comments, I am having second thoughts. Should I switch to another design?

I love my window seat nook on the second floor. I designed it in to my second floor addition project for charm, but it is also SO practical! The extra depth makes it easier to move furniture upstairs. The oval window floods the second floor hallway and stairwell with light. The bench seat is a favorite spot for the cats and the top flips up for extra storage. The bookcases on either side also swing open to provide easy access to attic space. - Monica Miller, CKD, CBD, CR - J.S. Brown & Co.

You have a great palette so far, but I wouldn't introduce any new colors to the mix. I would suggest Coastal Fog, which is one shade lighter than the Berkshire Beige you are using in your kitchen.

I agree that you should remove the K and the shutters and go with a light gray or tan on the body. I would paint the window sashes a dark color and the trim a medium color.

These are an attractive combinations: Shingle style home in Hanover NH, Dutch Colonial Paint Colors (check out the before paint scheme on this home).

The shrubs are to large. New landscaping will help.

A beautiful diamond in the rough. I agree with the removal of big "k" and the shutters. The most impactful change might be to replace the metal roof with a shingled roof. This style is all about the roof and shingles would really play it up.

Timberline Slate or Charcoal look nice. Are you replacing the garage roof too? A row of Korean boxwood that would eventually grow to a short hedge would hide your foundation, keep it 2 ft max. Hydrangea Pee Gee standard trees at the corner edges to give some height or Limelight Hydrangeas, Japanese golden forest grass along the very front edge and the side edges. Take your house photo and the measurements of the beds to your local garden centre, most of them will do a plan or suggest plantings for you, if you feel you are not an experienced gardener, they will keep that in mind and suggest lower maintenance plantings. Does the front get morning sun and afternoon shade? They will need to know. Your home is just lovely!

Very pretty! When I think of French country, I think of blue & yellow...your builder is right but he should have explained. Bright white has a "blue" undertone, so it leaves a cold feel and your cabinets are a "warm" white. So, check out BM White Dove. That may work beautifully for you.

Here's an inspiration photo:

Don't pull the threads too tight, that is what distorts the needlepoint. They often advise using the line form, but I prefer the basket weave. I find rotating between doing the background and the pattern worked better for me. I used to be bored by the background, but now I find it soothing.

I joined Houzz two years ago. When I retired, hubby and i sold our city family home and put the money into doing a big makeover of our old cottage, which is now our cottage/home. The numerous inspirational photos, ideas and suggestions I collected from Houzz went into 6 months of planning every element of the design and bounced off our amazing contractor and kitchen cabinet maker that we hired to do the work. I learned SO MUCH from this site. Printed Houzz inspirational photos helped to give the vision of what we were seeking to our builder. A few pros and fellow Houzzers offered invaluable suggestions to me on my Size of Kitchen Lighting and Should I do Shutters Dilemma threads. I have attached the 2 most significant comparison photos to 2 inspirational photos from Houzz to illustrate that dreams and inspirations can be put into reality thanks to this most amazing Houzz community and web site. Thank you Houzz!
