I so agree with last commenter. It is a pet peeve of mine to hear parents that don't like colour...or plastic....or toys, and try a minimalistic approach. I am not saying your house needs to look like a Fisher Price warehouse, but come on! Kids need to play, regardless of how much you hate looking at that play set or sandbox in your backyard. I try to create a home, and backyard where my kids can be kids, and enjoy themselves. Anything I can do to get them away from an IPOD or a TV!

I know in the years to come, my house will look beautiful. I will clean it and it will stay clean. I will wash the floor and no one will track sand...or mud inside. I will wipe mirrors, and the fingerprints will STAY off. It will look like a show house. I will go from doing 3-4 loads of laundry a NIGHT to a few loads a week. I will be able to put all kinds of beautiful glass breakables on my coffee table.....HECK I will HAVE a coffee table! :)
( Ours is glass and sharp corners, so it went into storage when our 1st started walking, and we've always had one in diapers, so it hasn't made a appearance again since.)

I know the time I have with my kids is short...I tell myself this everyday. Kids grow up WAY too fast, ( wow, I sound like my Mom ) But I try to remind myself that this blissful chaos is temporary, and I have tons of time to sit in my perfectly clean and decorated home when they are all grown and doing their own thing. Right now....bring on the plastic pools...the sandboxes...the sprinklers...and the smiles!! :0)
