Design Within Reach Hi Natalie,
I love your ideabook, thanks for sharing! The Sputnik Chandelier (or as we refer to it, the Satellite Chandelier) is one of my all time favorites and truly a beautiful piece for any mid-century modern home.
The bronze finish for this chandelier is also another detail that will draw attention to any space. It is a conversation piece for your guests at any entertaining gathering you have.
Best,
Jill@DWR

jdaley46 I also agree that the best way to tackle this project is take it one room at a time. Photograph it wall by wall and enter it all on a spread sheet. If I might suggest to name the columns by description, size, cost and if your are lucky enough to know the year and place of purchase. I have done several remodels and that is the way I track all my expenses, room by room. The more information the better. You could even highlight the items that you feels are most important. Sentimental value will be just that. I once sold a home with almost all of the furnishings and the spread sheet was a great tool for me. It takes a lot of stuff to make a home and that will be immediately apparent.

ejmcgrenere This is something I have not even given a thought about, but what a wonderful idea. I think most take too much for granted.
It will certainly take a lot of time, but very sensible.
Thank you so much for putting this in print, helps make all decisions so much easier for those whom have to take care of
All your final wishes. Ellie_j McGrenere

I love the brass elements, also, especially the long brass pulls making it easy to "find" the drawer when you're in a hurry. I love the unobtrusive support beam--took a while for me to notice it. The open plan still a warm cozy, country feel.

Natural Home Design I appreciatte Houzz for showing us a home that's creative and eclectic..It reminds me a llittle of my own home except I have more piles. ".designed homes" tend to get so unreal.and so very serious.like does anyone actually live there..or is it just for show!

mugsy1703 Very happy and cheerful. Enjoy your stuff while you are young. As you get older, you realize how big a pain it is to keep it neat and clean every week ... and then you will slowly start to get rid of it all ...

Leisa Rich I went in and looked at the Kips Bay Show House. There was a freneticism to the designs; as with any "haute couture" influenced, artistic license, free reign approach used in these fantasy worlds, one takes away what one appreciates and disposes of the things they don't respond to. There was a Futurist and Cubist approach to many of the rooms and assemblages and pieces that reflect our fractured society. However, I would have to agree with some of the comments that none of the spaces are really livable, but that that is what makes it a show house- "ideas" that can be used in a variety of spaces!

arteshouse It is so much fun to see the showhouses. I find that I look forward to seeing the new batch every year. Too many inspirational elements to list. Very well done SF.

But you're point's well taken - if you like it, but it's able to be overexposed, does that automatically mean it's trendy not timeless? I'm not sure.
