I really like the batten shutters. I have a cape cod style home. Would batten shutters look OK on my home? My home is white and presently has dark green shutters and entrance door. I would really like to go with dark gray shutters and a red door. Any thoughts?

I love this. It's very Parisian in color scheme, Country in affect, and American in size. In my family - at the holidays - you can often have 6 women trying to make different dishes in various areas of the kitchen. This is perfect for that. Or when I'm cooking multiple meals for the week, the kids need something to drink, the hubby wants to make a sandwich etc - we are NOT in one another's way in a space like this. The Banquette is so very european. A place to sit with a cup of hot chocolate and the dogs while reading a book? Maybe eating something I just baked on a little plate on that little table. Cafe tables on the sidewalk in France are not much bigger.

While it's not child-proof for a home with small kids, it's gorgeous and a lovely take on both the French and American styles. I have learned that as much as I love those brands of ranges, having a too small oven would not work for me. I use the oven far too much. This makes me sad. I like the idea of a custom range in any color I wish.

The addition of colors in a kitchen like this would, in my opinion, come from the linens, fruits bowls on the counters, and food being prepared - but the rest of the time would look light and restful.

Great job!

Haha, I have a kitchen because it came with the house! To each their own!
